In 2023, the US President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the PVSA to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to act similarly.

The PVSA has continued under each administration, honoring volunteers with devotion, dedication, and compassion to assist in our nation’s toughest challenges. The ability to bestow Presidential recognition to you as a community volunteer is a tremendous honor. Recognizing your volunteers’ commitment can deliver a powerful message encouraging others to act similarly for more information.

The PVSA is a recognition open to individuals or institutions that have distinguished themselves through community services. Your track record has earned you an outstanding nomination, making you a place in the annals of history in your community. You demonstrated kindness, honesty, leadership, and exceptional values that honor the profession.


The impact of volunteers’ actions is a visible footprint through the scope of work undertaken, and their commitment to serving humanity is selfless and proves the best work on earth.; therefore, they are role models worthy of emulation. With this and further consideration, their nomination was welcomed and unanimously endorsed by a selection panel of 13 representatives from The Board of Trustees of PEP Africa and the Volunteer Team.


2023 is a historic year for PEP Africa, the Global Volunteer Community, with the PVSA dinner.” The award recipient will be able to join the increasing number of volunteers (Goodwill Ambassadors) in the US and kick-start a decade of collective action amidst the COVID-19 recovery.
